Hedi Slimane
is a talented french fashion designer that worked as art director at Yves Saint Laurent in 1997 and as creative designer for men's clothing at Christian Dior in 2000. He was named International Designer of the Year in 2002 and experimented, during his career, with furniture design, store design and photography. Slimane always showed a particular interest in indie rock music. He became friends with Babyshambles' lead singer Pete Doherty, Amy Winehouse and published "Stage", a book containing his collection of rock music photographs.
His most recent work inludes Lady Gaga's "The Fame Monster" cover and promotional art, but in his photographs artists such as Daft Punk, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss, Phoenix, The Drums and many others have featured.
Slimane's work, both as a designer and as a photographer, has been extremely successful and has marked the way for many in the fashion industry.
