Silencio Club

BY SHELDON

This past October David Lynch opened a new hotspot six floors under 142 rue Monmartre in Paris. The club is called Silencio, named after the creepy theater in Lynch's movie "Mulholland Drive". Mixing different textures, forms and lightning the place is an architectural delight that took two years to build and cost around 3 million euros.

The place is a member's only nightclub that opens from 6 pm to 6 am and that has an anual membership of 768 euros; common guests are only allowed to enter the club after midnight. It is intended to aim for celebrities and socialites in the fashion, music, writing or acting world and has already been compared to places like Andy Warhol's Factory. Only a month from its opening, the club has already hosted parties for Hermès, Chanel, Proenza Schouler, Balenciaga, Gareth Pugh and Kanye West.

Will it become a place where celebrities and socialites alike go wild for the night like the Boom Boom Room in New York? Let's hope so.
