BY JAY VIGO
Mona Hatoum was born in Beirut, Lebanon. But because of the war in her country, she lived in London where she studied Fine Arts. She has been very succesfull, her work has appeared at White Cube, at Pompidou in Paris and at Tate Modern in London

In her work we can see installations, videos, lights, sounds and all kinds of stuff, with the main subjects that kept her out of her country, violence, human bodies and resistance.

Charles Saatchi really liked her work and decided to purchase some pieces that he showed in London, Berlin and New York.

And now on the Venice Biennale, they are exhibiting her latest work called “Interior Landscape”. The exhibition was curated by Chiara Bertola, who gave the artist two floors for 25 pieces to show.

If you are in Venice you should better check this out, because it’s a great experience to get involved with her work.
