Mario Garcia Torres has exhibited in many group and solo exhibitions, including the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, Kadist Art Foundation, Stedelijk Museum, Frankfurter Kunstverein, Venice Biennale, Musée d´Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, MCA Chicago, Tate Modern, and the Moscow Biennale. He was the recipient of the Cartier Award at the Frieze Art Fair.
As part of ‘The Exhibition Formerly Known as Passengers’ programme, he will be exhibiting in the upper gallery of CCA Wattis Institute of Contemporary Arts.
On view will be a selection of earlier works including a slideshow which documents the event of a reunion of ex- students of Halifax’s NSCAD University, who in 1969 created a work based on the concept of a shared idea that had to remain secret.
There are a lot of mexican great artists, but it is sad that just a few people support them, that's why just a few of them are known worldwide.
